Merry Christmas and Please Don’t Assualt anyone on Jesus’ Birthday Weekend

Merry Christmas!
So, its the time of the year where EVERYTHING is about babies.  More importantly, its about one specific baby who came about through a miracle.  Needless to say, its a pretty rough one for those wading through infertility.  All the presents and smiling kid with Santa pics are bound to cause a sniffle or two.  I understand.  It can be hard to fathom not having a child’s laughter to bring you into Christmas Morning, or not having a precious one to shop for this season. But don’t let it paralyze you.

Pamper yourself!  Purchase gifts that make YOU feel special.  Take the pressure of children off of your list.  Spend some time with your family or significant other and truly take the time to enjoy YOU.  YOU are your greatest gift this season!

Pamper others!  Between my husband and I, we have five godchildren.  Last Holiday season, I bought them gifts, but it was still hard for me to think that there was no one to shop for in my house.  So, this year, I’ll admit, I focused ALL of my energy into providing them the very best Godmommy gifts!  I chose to cherish the children who are a part of my life now!

Enjoy your spouse! So, this evening, when other families are wrapping presents and sending their children to bed with visions of sugarplums…my husband and I will probably watch a funny movie and eat PizzaHut.  Last year, I stressed a lot about that, but this year, I am truly grateful that we have each other.  I enjoy the time that we spend together, and I am going to cherish the fact that we CAN spend totally uninterrupted time together because one day soon, when we DO have children, things are going to be different.

DON’T TAKE YOUR PERSONAL FEELINGS INTO OTHER PEOPLE’S HOLIDAY!  If you know you are a BitterBethany and can’t really handle watching everyone enjoy their holiday, please stay home.  It’s okay.  You don’t have to put yourself through any ordeals that you are full aware of your inability to handle.  Take the time to sit to yourself and come to terms with your feelings if you need to.

Remember, its Jesus’ birthday, don’t go to jail!  LOL  Seriously, people say some crummy things on holidays to childless couples. I know this.  The sad thing is these aren’t even the accidental faux pas, but full blown bogus statements….I KNOW.  TRUST ME.  But let even the most ignorant of them roll off of you.  Try your hardest.

If no one else tells you,
I understand you.
I love you.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Soon BFP!
