It’s very easy to feel alone when you’re the “only”.  You wonder if you belong, if you have a voice, or if you’re seen. This leaves a lot of our most valuable individuals actually sitting quietly in the background, holding all of their gifts and great ideas inside.

I have a lot of experience being the “only” in the room. The only black woman in the room. The only infertile woman in a room of moms. The only adult in a room full of teens.  Rather than feeling othered and isolated however, I’ve found that these experiences have actually gifted me the opportunity to listen, observe, and identify the things that make us all more alike than different.

My passion is helping others feel seen and heard so that they can become their most authentic selves and reach their fullest potential.

If you are you planning your next retreat, conference, or meeting, I‘d love to hang out with you and your team and help get those quiet voices heard!

Appearances

Presentation and Workshop Topics Include:

Every now and then, we yearn for someone to say what we’re thinking. To express what we can’t seem to find the words for. That’s where I come in.

01  Bigger Than Babies

For more than a decade, I’ve provided an honest and personal look at the ways that infertility intersects physical, emotional, and mental health.  Using my personal experience as a base, I speak candidly about how and why infertility and reproductive health should be normalized and not scandalized.

02 Youth Advocacy

With over 15 years of experience as a youth librarian and teen specialist, allow me to share engaging and practical tips on how to serve and advocate for teens and young adults by listening and engaging them.

03  Empathy for Excellence

Are you curious about how to become a more compassionate, transparent, and empathetic leader?  For over a decade, I’ve served as a mentor and advocate in health, librarianship, and social service receiving both the Young Adult Librarian of the Year Award from the Illinois Library Association as well as being featured in the Root 100.  The key to my success has been creating a nurturing and honest leadership style that builds and empowers my teams.

04  Storytelling for Advocacy

Are you interested in learning how to effectively use your personal story to serve others?  I’d love to share how I’ve used personal storytelling and creative nonfiction to build my advocacy work for both young people and the reproductive health community, and develop accessible content around both. Your story matters!  Let’s get it out into the world!

05  Let’s Create It!

Additional or customized offerings by request.  Let’s work together to come up with the perfect focus and format for your needs.

What People Say

Regina, you are absolutely amazing and we are so honored that you spoke at the first-ever Fertility Rally. Your session was hands-down one of the crowd favorites, because you bring a real, relatable tone that immediately makes those listening comfortable. You are funny and warm and cool. You leave people feeling validated and empowered!
We had the pleasure of having Regina join us as a guest speaker for our Maternal Support Practitioner Training in our Spring semester. We loved her talk so much that we asked her to come back not only as a guest speaker but as a teacher! Regina has a beautiful ability to blend her knowledge and experience of infertility to help folks deepen their understanding of it. She not only conveys the important informational aspect of infertility but also the deeply challenging emotional component that many folks experience. Many of our students have shared the significant impact of listening to and learning from Regina, and how they have been better able to support their clients and show up in their communities. Regina is an incredible speaker, teacher and advocate and we are so grateful for the work she has done and continues to do. Thank you Regina!
Thank you so much for being apart of the Resolve New England Conference. I have been here several years and I have always asked for have more people like myself, a Black Women, be represented. I wanted to hear our stories and see myself reflected. Thank you for your inspiration, kind words, encouragement. Thank you for validating my faith, my strength, and the conflict I have between what I feel is in my heart about becoming a parent and discouragement we face.

Why Regina?

I believe in helping others find, express, and embrace their voice.

My presentation style is down-to-earth, practical, but informed.  I am passionate about advocacy and information, but not at the expense of understanding and connection. If you want your team to walk away with feelings of personal empowerment and motivation, let’s talk.
